Thanks for posting the videos and thanks to all who devoted their time and effort in bringing these performances to Tucson. For anyone who might have been wondering how stories about food might be translated into dance, these videos answer the question. Chile & Salt, my personal favoite, is an absolute delight.
We Are What We Eat is a participatory performance about what we eat and why. An innovative collaboration between NEW ARTiculations and the Community Food Bank, the project uses modern dance and community stories to reveal how food connects us to each other, our environment, and our everyday lives. Through a series of interactive, educational workshops in movement and writing, NEW ART artists and Food Bank staff will engage community participants in a "moving" dialogue about food issues. Material gathered during workshops and subsequent rehearsals will be used to create the final performance, featuring stories and dances from community participants and NEW ART artists.
“We Are What We Eat” will be performed Sunday, April 27 at the Tucson Botanical Gardens.
